Hispanic-American Vascular Specialist Exchange Network.

One of the main objectives of the CVHH (Spanish-Speaking Vascular Surgeons) Society is to promote training and further education at centers of excellence.

At CVHH, we are identifying potential members of a network of Hispanic vascular surgery specialists practicing in various centers in Europe and North America. The goal is to encourage their interconnection in a network that facilitates training placements and exchanges with physicians from Spanish-speaking countries. As a result of the survey, conducted among members with residency in these countries (see attached letter), more than 50 specialists have been identified to date, willing to collaborate as potential nodes in this virtual network. This list is accessible through the restricted area for CVHH members.

But it's not just knowledge based on technological development that we aim to share. The progressive incorporation of endovascular methods into our specialty is causing training deficiencies in open surgery among residents at many European and US centers. Surgical experience in hospitals in Central and South America with high patient loads represents a valuable added value for any specialist in training. The proper channeling of these shared interests should materialize into a multidirectional flow of residents through this exchange network.

At the same time, with the support of the industry, a CVHH grant policy has been launched to complement grants from the centers of origin and destination. Ideally, this initiative should constitute one of the main pillars of CVHH's activity and an effective incentive for training the next generation of vascular specialists.
